Black Shark 3, Black Shark 3 Pro Gaming Smartphones Launched: Everything You Need to Know

Black Shark has launched its much-awaited Black Shark 3 gaming smartphone in home-country China. Alongside that, the brand has also unveiled a Pro version of the device, dubbed as Black Shark 3 Pro. Both handsets pack Qualcomm’s latest and powerful Snapdragon 865 SoC and feature a triple rear camera setup. The Pro variant comes with dedicated gaming shoulder buttons that are not available on the non-pro variant. 

Black Shark 3 Price, Availability

Black Shark 3 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at CNY 3,499 (approx. Rs. 36,800) whereas the 12GB + 128GB model costs CNY 3,799 (approx. Rs. 39,900). The top-end variant, on the other hand, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at the CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs. 42,000). It is already available for pre-order and will go on sale on March 6 in the country. Black Shark 3 will be available in Armor Grey, Lightning Black, and Star Silver colors.

Black Shark 3 Specifications

Black Shark 3 boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a pixel density of 394ppi. The display covers 105 percent of DCI-P3 color gamut and a peak brightness if 500 nits. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 270Hz touch sampling rate. Powering this gaming phone is a 2.84GHz octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with the Adreno 650 GPU. It comes in 8GB LPDDR4x dual channel and 12GB LPDDR5 dual-channel RAM configurations with 128GB/256GB UFS 3.0 based storage. Software-wise, the handset runs on Android 10-based JOYUI skin. 

In terms of optics, the triple-rear camera setup includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 13-megapixel sensor secondary sensor with an f/2.25 aperture. There is also a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2. Upfront, it has a 20-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.

On the connectivity front, the Black Shark 3 supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax ), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset also sports an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The Black Shark 3 packs a 4,720mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. However, the 8GB + 128GB model of the phone comes with a 30W charger. There is also a magnetic charging connector on the back that is capable of 18W charging. It is 168.72×77.33×10.42mm in size with the thickest part being 10.8mm and weighs 222 grams.

Black Shark 3 Pro specifications

The Black Shark 3 Pro sports a 7.1-inch AMOLED display (1440 x 3120pixels) with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a pixel density of 483ppi. It has the peak brightness of 500 nits as the standard version, but only covers 97 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut similar to non-pro variant. The screen also has a 90Hz refresh rate with a 270Hz touch sampling rate. It is also fuelled by the same SD865 processor and GPU. However, the device has LPDDR5 dual-channel memory in both 8GB and 12GB RAM models. The internal storage of the device is UFS 3.0 256GB.

On the camera front, the Black Shark 3 Pro comes with a similar front and rear camera setup as the standard Black Shark 3. But, the major difference is that the Pro model has support for laser focus. 

The Black Shark 3 Pro is a 5,000mAh battery with the 65W charger as standard. It measures 177.79×83.29×10.1mm with the thickest part being 10.48mm and weighs 253 grams.

The Black Shark 3 Pro comes with dedicated gaming buttons on the right side of the phone while the non-Pro version does not. When put into landscape mode, these buttons are like shoulder buttons, common on most gamepads. With these, you can now comfortably play casino games like satta king.

Black Shark 3 Pro Price, Availability

The 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB models of the Black Shark 3 Pro is priced at CNY 4,699 (approx. Rs. 49,400) and CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 52,600) respectively. It is already available for pre-order and will go on sale on March 10 in the country. The Black Shark 3 Pro comes in Armor Grey and Phantom Black color options.

Black Shark Accessories Prices

Talking about the accessories, the clip-on cooling fan comes with a price tag of CNY 179 (approx. Rs. 1,890). As per the company’s claim, this cooling fan can bring down temperatures by 14 degrees Celsius in just one minute. Another accessory, Black Shark Gamepad 3.0 is priced at CNY 199 (approx. Rs. 2,100) while the magnetic charging connector costs CNY 79 (approx. Rs. 830). The company also unveiled the wired/ wireless, and a variety of cases as well.

The company hasn’t revealed the availability of the Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro in the other countries.
