Comparison: OnePlus 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs Apple iPhone X

OnePlus 6 is one of the most awaited smartphones of 2018. The “Flagship killer” which launched on May 16 came with much improvements in its look and feel and specs as well. The One plus is with stunning glossy outlook which is making everyone entranced by its look. The OnePlus 6 touts the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, AI-enabled cameras, and an entirely ‘new’ bezel-less design with a notched display, However, the chief competition of OnePlus 6 is going to go head to head against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S9+ and the iPhone X. We pit the OnePlus 6 against the Samsung Galaxy S9+ and Apple iPhone X to draw the comparison among them in terms of specifications and price.

OnePlus 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs iPhone X: Specifications

The two variants oneplus 6 and OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition have the same specifications except in storage and RAM. t has a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080×2260 pixel) AMOLED screen with 19:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone is powered by the octa-core 2.8GHz Snapdragon 845 processor, with Adreno 630 GPU. As mentioned above, it comes in three variants — 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage, and 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage. On the software side, it runs the Android 8.1 Oreo-based OxygenOS 5.1 custom OS and Android P Beta too will become available for it by tomorrow.

Coming camera tweaks, the OnePlus 6 camera setup consists of two sensors on the back — a primary 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 sensor with a 1.22-micron pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and EIS, and a secondary 20-megapixel Sony IM376K sensor with 1-micron pixel size and f/1.7 aperture. There’s also a 16-megapixel front camera with a Sony IMX371 sensor with EIS for selfies. The smartphone is backed by a 3300mAh battery under the hood with support for Dash Charging.

Samsung Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is a dual SIM smartphone. The smartphone houses a 6.2-inch quad-HD+ Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. While there is no notch on the display, it runs through the edges of the phone giving it a curved look. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ Indian model is powered by an Exynos 9810 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. The storage options are 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB with support for expandability.

Coming camera tweaks, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ sports a dual camera setup of Dual Pixel sensors each having a 12-megapixel lens. There is OIS on the cameras along with Portrait Mode. The front camera on the Galaxy S9+ is an 8-megapixel shooter with support for Beauty features. It is backed by a 3500mAh battery.

The iPhone X, on the other side, is a single SIM smartphone that runs the latest version of iOS 11.2 out-of-the-box. The handset sports a 5.8-inch (1125×2436 pixels) Super Retina display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is backed up by the latest Apple A11 Bionic SoC, coupled with 3GB RAM and 64GB/ 256GB of inbuilt storage.

Camera Tweaks, The iPhone X comes with dual cameras comprising two 12-megapixel sensors, wherein one is wide-angle and the other is telephoto. There is dual Optical Image Stabilisation on the cameras. On the front, the iPhone X has a 7-megapixel TrueDepth camera with AR features to facilitate Animoji, as well as Portrait Mode

OnePlus 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs iPhone X: Price in India

The OnePlus 6 price in India is Rs. 34,999 for the base 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option. The OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition price has been set as Rs. 44,999, and it comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The standard model goes on sale on May 21 via Amazon India and pop-up stores, while the limited edition model will be up for grabs in an open sale on May 25 via the e-commerce retailer.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ was launched in India in March this year. It comes in three variants – 6GB RAM and 64GB storage that is priced at Rs 64,900, the 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage model cost Rs 68,900, and the top-end 6GB RAM and 256GB storage model bears a price tag of Rs 75,000. While the first two variants were announced in March at the India launch event, the 256GB variant was released later in the market.

iPhone X is, of course, the most expensive of the lot, with MRP hitting Rs. 95,390 for the 64GB model and Rs. 1,08,930 for the 256GB option.
