Honor 30S 5G Unveiled: Kirin 820 SoC, 64MP quad-cameras with 3x Optical Zoom & more

Finally, Honor 30S 5G has been launched. Huawei has been quietly added as a new upper mid-range 5G smartphone called Honor 30S 5G in China. It will be available in four colors: Black, Blue, Green, and a new Feather Red gradient model. Honor 30S comes with rounded corners and the butterfly 3D glass back design. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a single punch-hole camera.

Honor 30S 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at 2399 yuan (approx. Rs 25,485) while the 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage model comes with a price tag of 2699 yuan (approx. Rs 28,672). The Honor 30S is launched in Black, Blue, Green, and a new Feather Red gradient model.

The Honor 30S comes with a 6.5-inch LTPS LCD punch-hole display with 2400 × 1080 pixel resolution and HDR10 certification. It is powered by the new 7nm Kirin 820 SoC. The phone has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. 

The Honor 30S also comes with a quad rear camera setup with a 64MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom. There’s also an 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP f/2.4 macro shooter. The rear camera supports 4K videos and 960fps slo-mo video at 720p resolution. You also get AIS and EIS for stabilization. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel shooter inside the punch-hole.

Connectivity on the phone is handled by a 5G SA/NSA dual-mode standards and Wi-Fi ac, BL 5.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Note that there’s no NFC or an IR port. Huawei has packed a 4000mAh battery with 40W fast wired charging. The device runs on Magic UI 3.1.1 on top of Android 10 OS.
