Huawei rolled out EMUi update for Mate 20 Pro and Mate RS with multi-facial recognition feature

Huawei, a parent company of Honor rolled out EMUI update for its flagship Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design that brings special multi-face recognition to its devices. What is this special feature? The answer is now users can store two different face profiles on their phones, Where you can unlock the phone and perform different tasks, Hopefully, this feature mostly helps couples from their passcode fights.

This stored facial profiles can be used to unlock the device, without any worry. Along with this you can use two faces to make payments via AliPay, send money on WeChat, unlock applications and even view hidden notifications on the lock-screen, Sounds great right! As mentioned that this feature most useful for couples. For example, if your boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife wants to use your phone, they can do so by using their face. It can also be useful for parents to check up on their kids and see what they’ve been up to.

For now, The current Stock Android and other Custom ROMs only allow users to save one facial profile. Hence the new EMUI feature claims to be the first to come with such a feature. Are you still waiting for an update, let me help you in finding this new option on your phone. Once you tap on Settings app head over to Security and Privacy > Face Unlocking. If you already added a face, you should now see an option to add another face. Select this option and add the new face by following steps.

Sadly, This new feature is currently only rolling out for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 RS Porsche Design. If you are owning either of this phone you can enjoy this feature Once receive the OTA update. However, the new feature is not satisfying the customers as there are several complaints in the forums that say that the phone cannot recognise users wearing spectacles if the original face profile did not wear one. We are not sure of any update of this issue. Along with this feature the update includes most of the awesome features found in Google’s latest mobile OS.
