iPhone X explodes after iOS 12.1 update : Report

Apple recently launched the premium smartphones iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR  which run on all new iOS 12. Apple released an update iOS 12.1 a couple of weeks ago to remove major and minor bugs in the previous version. The all new iOS 12.1 was rolled out to all other compatible iPhone models.

Today an incident was posted on Twitter by Rahel Mohamad from the city of Federal Way in Washington, United States,  in which his iPhone was exploded while downloading the new OS version. Apple support also replied to that tweet saying that this is an unexpected behavior and the Apple team will look into the issue.

He also mentioned that he got the iPhone this January, and have been using the phone normally. He put the iPhone on charge during the iOS 12.1 upgrade process and the phone got exploded.

He said, ” Dark grey smoke started coming out from the phone, as soon as the phone turned on after the update, it started to smoke and caught fire.” Mr.Mohamad claims that he was using the original Apple charger (bundle) and lightning cable to charge.

He also added that when he touched the phone, it was extremely hot and he dropped the phone immediately.

This incident might be the result of bad components or a defective battery. Let’s see what Apple offers to Mr.Mohamad regarding this issue.
