New Report Confirms Square Triple-Camera Setup on iPhone XI

| By DWR Editor

A new report on the iPhone XI by Japanese site Macotakara that has confirmed the earlier reported square triple camera setup. The latest images of the iPhone XI on the Japanese site shows a more symmetrical alignment of camera lenses. While other specs of the device are unknown for now, one thing has definitely caught people’s eyes. That is the triple camera system shown on the back of the phone.

This is a huge upgrade in terms of design and camera with a triple camera setup which is housed in a large protruding square on the back of the device. However, the difference between the last leak and the latest image is the alignment of the lenses. New images from Japanese site Macotakara shows the lenses that are more aligned in a symmetrical fashion.

We have already seen a triple camera setup in Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro, LG’s recently launched V40 ThinQ. But the camera module design on the Phone XI is very similar to the square housing on the Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro.

Apple has been struggling with a meaningful decline in sales as customers in China shied away from higher-priced models and the US-China trade war. Whereas tech giant Apple’s performance in India in 2018 pegged “disastrous” by analysts. iPhone shipments in India last year are estimated to have shrunk by as much as half from a record level in 2017. According to the reports, Apple’s India shipments were pegged at 1.6-1.7 million in 2018, which is lower than 3.2 million in 2017. The report further added that Apple’s high prices of the devices are unable to compete with rivals including OnePlus. Chinese smartphone brands such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo – are gaining market share by selling smartphones with better features at half or even a third of the cost of Apple’s iPhones.

Together with the notch, 3D ToF technology and the triple camera system, the upcoming iPhone XI could be the biggest increment we have seen on an Apple device.
