| By Shandilya

The Price for the OnePlus 6 in India got leaked and, ahead of its official launch later this year, and reports suggests that OnePlus’ newest flagship will blow a hole of the size of Rs. 39,999 in consumers interested in the 128GB Model, while the 64GB Model will cost around-about Rs. 36,999. The specs suggest that the phone is a substantial upgrade over its previous flagship, the OnePlus 5T, launched in November 2017.

OnePlus is known to have pushed its products at a very rapid rate, such that a loyal OnePlus user would have to upgrade to only the 3rd flagship release down the line. The OnePlus One was released in 2014, after which they’ve had almost two releases every year. The OnePlus 6 is the eighth smartphone in the OnePlus family. When the brand made its entry into the Indian market, it offered a product that could tap into the interests of, gain the attention of and cater to the needs of the young, substantially technically inclined consumer base in India without costing a fortune to them. Since then though, the cost has risen gradually but substantially.

Localizing the comparison to India, we can see that the prize of the OnePlus flagships has grown quite a lot. The debut entry – the OnePlus One – cost Rs. 18,999 for the 16 GB variant and 21,999 for the 64GB version. The new launch, with their innovative marketing campaign which may have optimized services like that SEO agency, made quite a mark in the Indian market, after which, the Chinese manufacturer, owned by another company making its headway into India, Oppo, came up with their next release, the OnePlus 2, which cost Rs. 24,999 for the 64GB variant and Rs. 22,999, a hike of Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 4,000 respectively. The OnePlus 3 had a price-tag of Rs. 29,999 for the smaller 64 GB variant and 34,999 for the 128 variant. The OnePlus 5 had a price of Rs. 32,999 and Rs. 37,999 for the lower and higher variants respectively. OnePlus actually deviated from this trend by not hiking the prices when it came to the OnePlus 5T.

This indicates a clear upward trend in how the company prices its smartphones. There are quite a few reasons why this may be taking place, these include things like the fact that the company has a legitimate customer base, that they can afford to hike prices on in return for a better product, but at the same time, they may be gradually clearing up the low price market for it’s parent brand. Regardless, we’re all very excited for the upcoming OnePlus 6 release, we sure hope you are as well.
