OnePlus Z leaked render from protective glass sheds light on front design

| By DWR Editor

OnePlus is reported to launch the OnePlus Z smartphone sometime around July. Now, a new render has leaked what is said to be the OnePlus Z protective glass. The render comes courtesy of GizTop, and it shows just the front design of the phone.

The leaked protective case render of the OnePlus Z shows a single punch-hole cutout placed in the center of the top edge of the screen. It also shows the smartphone’s narrow bezels on the sides but a slightly prominent chin. On the right edge, the phone has volume rockers and power buttons. The top edge houses a minimal looking earpiece.

Earlier, the OnePlus Z was rumored to launch alongside the OnePlus 8 series. But that didn’t happen. Going by the reports, the forthcoming OnePlus Z will be a direct successor to the OnePlus X and it is expected to launch in July 2020 alongside the recently leaked OnePlus Buds. In terms of specifications, the OnePlus Z is likely to pack the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC or the Snapdragon 765G with 5G connectivity.

If rumors are to be believed, then OnePlus Z will launch with a USB Type-C port. It is said to ship with Android 10-based OxygenOS, 4000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.

In the camera department, the OnePlus Z reportedly features a 16MP selfie camera sensor housed within the punch-hole cutout at the front. The brand is expected to launch the OnePlus Z in two different storage configurations: 8GB RAM/128GB storage and 8GB RAM/256GB storage.
