It has been no secret that Chinese giant Xiaomi is going to launch Redmi K30 series and it would appear that this could happen by the end of this year. But, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Vice President and Redmi General Manager in a Weibo post has stated that the company will not be launching the Redmi K30 series in 2019, instead the company planned to launch it in 2020. However, the exact launch date for the series is yet to be revealed.

Lu Weibing shared China Mobile’s evaluation of 4G hotspot tests with three Xiaomi phones on it, the Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 in a Weibo post. He stated “In 2020, Redmi is a 5G pioneer. See you at K30!” in Chinese. Along with the confirmation on the launch of Redmi K30 series in 2020 he even confirmed that it will come with 5G support.

Weibing also stated that Xiaomi needs to overcome a series of technical difficulties in the early 5G era to provide consumers with the best quality 5G terminal. Furthermore, he added that Redmi will provide the consumers with high quality devices and wouldn’t want to launch anything unless all the glitches are ironed out. This could be the reason for the launch delay of the Redmi K30 series.

Going by the recent teaser image posted by the company, we can assume that the upcoming Redmi K30 series will have a punch-hole display. We can also expect the Redmi K30 series to have a 4G variant.
