Samsung Galaxy M Series India Launch: Here is Everything We Know About Galaxy M10 and M20

Samsung Galaxy M series smartphones are set to launch today on Amazon India at 6 PM and we came across several leaks and rumors around the Samsung Galaxy M series. Samsung said that the Galaxy M-Series phones will be targeted at ‘young millennials’ and feature ‘powerful’ displays, cameras, batteries, and processors. Samsung is aggressively priced the M-series smartphones to compete with other smartphone brands in the market such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.

As part of the launch, Samsung is planning to reveal a number of devices including the Samsung Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, and Galaxy M30. The company is also working on two more phones, the Galaxy M40, and Galaxy M50. Samsung’s this Galaxy M series will replace its existing Galaxy On and J series of phones.

Improved design and camera

The new M-series smartphones will come with an improved design as compared to other budget and mid-range segment. The company already confirmed and teased that this series phones will have the Infinity-V style notch at the front (water drop notch). The company has also added a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which is an essential feature to its entry-level devices.

Besides this, the M-series will also feature a dual camera setup on the back of the phone with a regular lens on the primary sensor and a super wide lens on the secondary sensor. Up front, there will be a single camera sensor however, we are not sure about the resolution. Sadly, these phones will ship with the Android 9 Pie-based One UI out of the box. But, the company is planning to launch the Android Pie update in the month of August.

Better internals and Battery improvements

Another highlight of this series will be more powerful internals as well as the improved battery life. Samsung could add its Exynos 7870 SoC on the Galaxy M10 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and Exynos 7904 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage on Galaxy M20. The Geekbench listing also revealed Galaxy M30 will be powered by an Exynos 7885 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. Coming to the battery capacity, the company is claiming big things with larger battery capacity and support for Fast Charging technology. The M10 is reported to back 3,400mAh battery and M20 is likely to come with a huge 5,000mAh battery. Samsung claims that the new M-series will support up to 3x the charging speeds compared to its previous phones. The teaser page of the phones also shows that it will pack devices with a 15W fast charger.

Expected Pricing and availability

Coming to the pricing, the Galaxy M10 will have two variants, 2GB RAM and 16GB variant for the M10 will be priced at Rs 7,990 and the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant is likely to be priced at Rs 8,990. Slightly high-end Galaxy M20 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant is likely to come with a price tag of Rs 10,990 whereas the 4GB RAM and 64GB variant could be priced at Rs 12,990. According to previous reports, the devices will go on sale on Amazon India and Samsung India stores starting March 5, 2019.
