Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ appears on BIS listing, launch seems imminent

Samsung Galaxy S23 series might be launched earlier than expected. Samsung typically announces its Galaxy S-series flagships in February. The Galaxy S23 series, however, could debut as early as this December or January 2023, according to reports. Although Samsung hasn’t officially announced anything, the company is expected to announce its Z Fold and Z Flip series in the second half of 2023.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series India Launch

In the meantime, Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ models have been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, suggesting a possible launch in the near future.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is listed on the BIS website with model SM-S911B/DS. On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 Plus has the model number SM-S916B.

It is common for Samsung phones to have model numbers with initials associated with the series they belong to. In addition to these models, a few others have the initial letter K, possibly indicating new K-series phones are on the way. These devices have the model number SM-K741B/DS and SM-K746B/DS. Sadly, there isn’t much information about this Samsung phone.

According to reports, the Galaxy S23 features a 6.1-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. As for the S23+, it will feature a 6.6-inch AMOLED display. A leak of the design renders showed the phone would have a flat display and a hole-punch cutout at the top centre.

A triple-camera setup will be on the back. In terms of cameras, the phone is likely to come with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. There will be a 12MP camera upfront.

They will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC or an Exynos 2300 SoC based on the region where they will be available. The phones will come with Android 13 out of the box and One UI 5.0 on top of that. It is also said that the phones offer 25W fast charging. The S23 reportedly carries a bigger battery compared to the predecessor that packs 3700mAh battery.
