Vivo S12 specifications tipped ahead of December 22 launch

Vivo is holding an event in China on December 22 to announce its S12 series. Two new phones, S12 and S12 Pro are expected to be released by the brand under the smartphone series. Some of the key specs have been teased by the company, and details have leaked online. Now, the Vivo S12 smartphone has been spotted on the China Telecom website, which reveals its design, specs, and other details.

China Telecom’s listing indicates that the phone will come with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a notch display. The phone will likely feature a 90Hz refresh rate.

The rectangular camera module is located on the back of the phone houses a triple-camera setup. The rear camera setup will include a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there will be a dual-camera setup with a combination of a 44MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera.

It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC paired with 8GB/ 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The phone will come preloaded with Android 11-based Origin OS on top. There is a possibility that Vivo will launch these devices with Origin OS Ocean. Powered by a 4200 mAh battery, the phone supports 44W fast charging. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, WiFi, and a USB Type-C port.  

The device will be available in three colors – black, blue, and gold. According to the listing, the 8GB + 256GB variant of the device will cost CNY 2999 (approx. Rs 35900) whereas the 12GB + 256GB variant will be priced at CNY 3399 (approx. Rs 40,700).
