Xiaomi increases price of Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A in India

Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has increased the price of its Redmi 8A Dual, Redmi 8, and Redmi Note 8 smartphones in India. Check out the new prices of Xiaomi smartphones.

Redmi Note 8 New Variant Tenaa

Redmi 8A Dual has got a price hike of up to Rs 500. Previously priced at 7,299, the price of the Redmi 8A Dual 2GB + 32GB model has been increased by Rs 200. It will now retail at Rs Rs 7,499. Similarly, the retail price of the Redmi 8A Dual 3GB + 32GB model has been increased by Rs 500. It was launched with a price tag of Rs 7,499 and will now sell at a new price of Rs 7,999. 

Similarly, the Redmi 8 has also received a price hike. It was earlier available with a price tag of Rs 9,299. The Redmi 8 4GB + 64GB model’s new price is Rs 9,499.

At last, the Redmi Note 8 smartphone’s price has been increased by as much as Rs 500. It will now cost Rs 11,999 for the 4GB+64GB model, which is up from its previous price of Rs 11,499. The 6GB+128GB variant, on the other hand, now costs Rs 14,499 which is a Rs 500 price increase from Rs 13,999.

The new prices of the Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, and Redmi 8A are effective from today onwards and are already reflecting on Flipkart, Amazon, and the official website.

Redmi 8A Dual Specifications

The Redmi 8A Dual comes equipped with a 6.22-inch HD+ display with waterdrop notch with a 1520×720 pixels resolutions. On the rear, it has a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it has 8-megapixel of Selfie Shooter which also helps in Face Unlock. 

Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC paired with 2GB RAM/32GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The memory is expandable via a dedicated MicroSD card up to 512GB. 

It runs on Android 10-based MIUI 11 and it packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through USB Type-C. On the connectivity front, this dual-SIM smartphone support VoLTE on both SIM cards as well as VoWiFi.

Redmi 8 Specifications

Redmi 8 boasts a 6.22-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass dot-notch display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. It runs 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 SoC that is paired with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. You can also expand the storage up to 512GB through a microSD card.

The phone has 12MP + 2MP cameras on the back and 8MP shooter on the front. Powering the device is  a 5,000mAh battery.

Redmi Note 8 Specifications

Redmi Note 8 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is fuelled by an octa-core latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot that allows for further storage expansion up to 256GB.

The handset gets a quad-camera setup at the rear. The configuration comprises a 48-megapixel primary sensor coupled with an 8-megapixel ultrawide and dual 2-megapixel shooter for macro and depth sensing. For selfies, there is a single 13-megapixel AI front camera. It has a 4,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support via USB Type-C. On the software terms, the Redmi Note 8 runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 11 skin.
