Now, ahead of the official launch event, the company has shared a drop test video of the upcoming Redmi Y3 that shows how durable the smartphone is.

As we mentioned above, Xiaomi India’s official Twitter handle posted a new video of the Redmi Y3 drop test where the upcoming Redmi Y3 being dropped down the stairs, although inside a dustbin. Even though the video is not useful as expected, it does give us a clear look at the design of the phone. Having said that, the build quality of the Xiaomi Redmi Y3 seems appropriate for its market segment, especially for a mid-range device. You can rest assured it’ll survive day to day usage. The small video shows the gradient design of the smartphone and the dual-camera setup with LED flash along with the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Redmi Y3 Expected Specifications, Price and Availability

Talking about the specifications of the Redmi Y3, the device is expected to sport a 6.2-inch or a 6.3-inch a dot-notch display. Under the hood, the smartphone is rumored to fuel Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 or Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor. The device is confirmed to pack 4,000mAh battery. Coming to the camera, the company already confirmed the 32-megapixels selfie shooter and it will be a huge upgrade to the predecessor. It could use Samsung’s GD1 32-megapixel sensor for the front camera setup, which offers HDR enhancement. It is expected to feature the same dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel + 2-megapixel used on the Redmi Note 7. Wi-Fi certification of the device revealed that the device will ship running MIUI 10 based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie. The Amazon landing page of the Redmi Y3 also claims the smartphone will be splash-proof.

At last, the Redmi Y3 is expected to be priced under Rs. 10,000 in India. The smartphone will be an Amazon exclusive and is likely to go on sale on the official site along with selected offline stores.
