Honor Magic 2 Teaser Reveals Design and Slider Mechanism

| By DWR Editor

Earlier this week, Huawei teased its new Honor Magic 2 and the poster hinted that the phone is coming on 30th October. Now again, a short teaser of the upcoming Magic 2 has been spotted by GizmoChina, that reveals the contemporary design of the smartphone. The front of the phone is dominated by a massive bezel-less display with no notch. Huawei claims that the Magic 2 will feature nearly 100 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The teaser video demonstrated how the slider will work, in the end. Dissimilar to the mechanical slider on the Oppo Find X, the upcoming Honor Magic 2 likely to feature a manual slider. As you’ll see in the video, The phone features a sliding mechanism, and the slider houses the front-facing camera and other sensors. The teaser also gives a hint at the back of the smartphone. There’s a dual camera setup on the top-left position, with camera sensors stacked vertically along with an LED flash.

Previous reports indicate that the Honor Magic 2 will be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 and it is the “world’s first commercial 7nm SoC”. The 7nm process provides the 20 percent improved SoC performance and 40 percent more efficiency. The device will come with a 6-inch AMOLED display having a screen resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. It will pack 6GB of RAM with some storage options to select. Further, the device is expected to support Honor’s 40W ‘Magic Charge’ fast charging technology with a claimed 15 layers of protection. Interestingly, the Honor Magic 2 is expected to feature in-display fingerprint scanner instead of the physical one. The device might also utilize the market’s first graphene-based battery, a technology that is said to be safer and more reliable than the familiar lithium-ion batteries.
