Huawei Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+ unveiled with starting price of Rs 1,04,500

Huawei’s Mate-series is constantly getting new members. Now, the Chinese smartphone brand has just launched new smartphones for the Mate 40 family. The new Huawei Mate 40 lineup includes Huawei Mate 40, Huawei Mate 40 Pro, and Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ smartphones. The company also unveiled Porsche Design Mate 40 RS.

In terms of price, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro 8GB+256GB version costs EUR 1,199 (approx. Rs. 1.04 lakh). At the same time, there is a Pro variant. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro 12GB+256GB version is priced at EUR 1,399 (approx. Rs. 1.21 lakh). There is also a Porsche Design Mate 40 RS that costs EUR 2,295 (approx. Rs. 1.99 lakh) for sole 12GB + 512GB model.

Black, White, and Mystic Silver are the three colors of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro while the Mate 40 Pro+ comes in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black color options. The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS comes in Ceramic White, Ceramic Black colors.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro Specifications

Huawei Mate 40 Pro ships with a 6.76-inch full HD+ (1,344×2,772 pixels) OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Worth noting that since this is an OLED panel, it features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The rear camera department is covered by a triple-camera sensor. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro packs a 50-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.9 aperture) with OIS, a 20-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/1.8 lens, a 12-megapixel sensor with an f/3.4 telephoto lens. Upfront, it has a 13-megapixel camera sensor, along with a 3D depth-sensing camera.

Under the hood, the handset ships with the Kirin 9000 SoC and is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The handset draws power from a 4,400mAh battery that charges via 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone measures 162.9×75.5×9.1mm and it weighs 212 grams. The device also has an extra 3D Face Recognition sensor and a barometric pressure sensor.

The handset is water-resistant with IP68 certification. The phone comes with Android 10-based EMUI 11 straight out of the box with Huawei Mobile Services. Other features are 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2 LE, GPS (L1 + L5 dual-band), NavIC, NFC, USB 3.1  Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack.

Under the hood, the chipset boasts Kirin 9000 chipset. The chipset is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ specs are built around a 6.76-inch full HD+ (1,344×2,772 pixels) OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. 

Moving around to the back we have a Penta camera setup that includes a 50MP primary lens with f/1.9 aperture, OIS, a 20MP ultra-wide Cine lens with f/2.4 aperture, 8MP periscope lens with 10x zoom and a 12MP telephoto sensor with 3x zoom. Huawei claims that the Mate 40 Pro+ has a 17x optical zoom range. The device also has a ToF Camera for depth sensing. For selfies, it comes equipped with a dual-selfie camera with a 13MP front-facing camera and a 3D depth-sensing ToF camera. The handset is water-resistant with IP68 certification. It measures 162.9×75.5×8.8mm and weighs 230 grams.

Worth noting that the phone comes with Android 10-based EMUI 11 straight out of the box with Huawei Mobile Services.
