Nokia 6.1 Plus ‘Hide Notch’ Option Returns With Android 9 Pie OS Update

This year, HMD Global unveiled a handful of Nokia smartphones among them one is Nokia 6.1 plus a midrange smartphone which was launched back in August. Like all other new smartphones Nokia 6.1 plus is also one that boasts notch which is one-time trendy one but now every smartphone brand is likely abandoning the notch design. Nokia 6.1 plus is the one which came with the notched display where initially it allowed users to ‘hide’ it via a simple toggle in the device’s settings.

All gone well until a software update came in September which disabled the ‘hide’ option of the notch. With this change, there are many users who are disappointed with its software update and company however finally seen the error of its ways. According to a report by Nokiapoweruser, Nokia 6.1 Plus is now receiving a new update that brings back the ability to ‘mask’ the notch, thus allowing users to have a display with uniform-looking top and bottom edges. Further, the update also brings a new camera feature called “Pro Camera” mode to the 6.1 Plus which lets the user fine-tune camera settings where you can click best images with the smartphone. And this software update (Android Pie) is already rolled out in the smartphones.

Meanwhile, The Nokia 6.1 Plus is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On Display, The handset flaunts a 5.8-inch FullHD+ display with a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The company claims that Nokia 6.1 Plus is an Android One-certified smartphone, but is as similar as rest of range.

On Imaging duties, The phone features a dual-lens rear camera system, comprised of a 16-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor. For selfies, There’s also a 16-megapixel sensor up front for selfies and video calls.The phone is backed by a 3,060mAh battery.
