Chinese brand Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of a new smartphone in India. The company recently launched the Redmi note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Y3 smartphones in the country and now it is all set to come up with another Redmi smartphone. The company has teased the launch of an upcoming Redmi smartphone on its Twitter handle.

The company has shared a teaser on Twitter with an image that has the texts “there was only one 48-megapixel in our arsenal”. The shared image also highlights the letter “S” with a different color, hinting at the new S-series in India.

The tweet reads “An all-new Redmi with a new 48MP Super camera is coming,”. However, the exact launch date of the handset is still unknown. Last month, Xiaomi’s Global VP and MD for Xiaomi India Manu Kumar Jain revealed that a new Snapdragon 700-powered phone will be unveiled soon. So, it could be the same device from the Redmi S series that he was hinted.

Talking about the expected pricing, the upcoming Redmi S series device with 48-megapixels camera is expected to be priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. Considering the price, it won’t be wrong to say that the handset will likely take on the likes of the Realme 3 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy M30 and other phones in same price segment in India.

A recent teaser had also revealed a triple-camera phone might soon make its debut in India and it could be the same Redmi’s new S series device, that will be launched in coming days. As per the rumors, the upcoming Redmi S series phone might feature 48-megapixel rear camera similar to that on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. It is expected to be fuelled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 730G chipset under the hood.
