Apple iPad Pro (2018) to reportedly ditch 3.5mm audio jack, get Face ID and iPhone X-like Animoji

Apple is expected to launch its new series of iPad Pro this year. The new models are having to feature some remarkable changes. Only two days back, it was reported that this year’s iPad Pro lineup will come with support for Face ID and Animoji, just like the iPhone X. But a new report adds more heat by shedding more light on the Face ID feature, while also suggesting the omission of the 3.5mm headphone jack, says Macotakara.

Macotakara has had a good track record with rumours in the past. In the latest report in the website suggests that Apple is planning on ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack in the iPad Pro lineup this year. That means the new iPads will come with a Lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter, just like the new range of iPhones.

Along with this it also states that the iPads to support Face ID. However, it was noted that the feature would only work in portrait mode. That means users won’t be able to unlock the iPad while using it horizontally. To adapt to this feature, the website claims that Apple is also moving the Smart Connector on the 2018 iPads to the bottom, closer to the Lightning connector. This means the latest iPad can be aligned vertically when connected to a Smart Keyboard. But the Apple left with a doubt How and why Apple could be planning to do this?

In addition to this, The website has given some details about the dimensions of the new iPad Pro series. Notably, the 10.5-inch variant will come with 247.5mm (H) x 178.7mm (W) x 6mm (T) dimensions, while the 12.9-inch model could feature 280mm (H) x 215mm (W) x 6.4mm (T).These two variants imply reduced size a little compared to their predecessors. The reason might be Apple s trying to reduce the footprint, by cutting down on bezels. The new ipads expected to arrive on this September.
