The Asus 8z is slated to launch soon in India. The company announced today that it will launch the Asus 8z in the country on February 28. The launch event for the Asus 8z in India will start at 12:00 pm (noon).

The Zenfone 8 series was launched globally by Asus in May of last year. Asus released the Asus 8z under the name Zenfone 8 in the Chinese market. Asus has parented with Milind Usha Soman for the launch in India.

Asus initially planned to launch the Zenfone 8 series in India in May when it was launched globally. But the company had to postpone the release due to the Covid 19 second wave in India.

Asus 8Z Specifications

Asus 8Z sports a 5.9-inch FHD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 2400 x 1080 screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1100-nits of peak brightness, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The display also has Gorilla Glass Victus protection. 

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with an Adreno 660 GPU, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This device features a 4000mAh battery and 30W fast charging. 

In terms of optics, the device includes a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor and a 12MP Sony IMX363 secondary sensor that has an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. The ZenFone 8 features a front-facing 12MP Sony IMX663 camera for selfies and video calls.

It boots Android 11-based on ZenUI 8. It remains to be seen whether the Asus 8Z launches with Android 12 in India.

Among the other features are a linear vibration motor, IP68 water, and dust resistance, dual super linear speakers with Dirac HD Sound (7-magnet top speaker, 3-magnet bottom), and triple microphones with OZO Audio Zoom & Noise Reduction Technology.
