Upcoming ASUS ROG Phone 5 spotted on Geekbench with 18GB RAM

ASUS ROG Phone 5, the upcoming Asus gaming smartphone is all set to launch in India and globally on March 10. Now, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 is listed on Geekbench, revealing a few details of the device.

The Geekbench listing of the ASUS ROG Phone 5 with model number ASUS_I005DB reveals that the phone comes with a whopping 18GB of RAM and runs on the latest Android 11 OS out of the box. It could be the first smartphone to launch with 18GB of RAM. To recall, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 launched with up to 16GB of RAM. Recently, Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy S21 Ultra with 16GB of RAM. On the CPU performance test, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 scores 1113 points on single-core and 3468 points on multi-core performance. 

Ahead of the launch, the ROG Phone 5 has been listed on JD.com. While the listing doesn’t reveal any specs of the phone, the website is only taking pre-orders of the gaming smartphone.

It is almost confirmed that the ASUS ROG Phone 5 will have the same design as its predecessor. For the first time, Asus is offering a device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. It is also said to be the first smartphone to pack 18GB RAM. The smartphone is also expected to house a 6,000mAh battery dual-cell battery that supports 65W fast-charging. The handset is tipped to come with three rear cameras arranged horizontally. It will run on Android 11 OS.
