Black Shark 3S gaming phone teased, could launch soon with Snapdragon 865+

After the launch of Asus ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion Duel gaming smartphones, a new gaming phone from Blackshark has started coming to light, and it could be called the Black Shark 3S. This development was confirmed by Black Shark’s CEO Luo Yuzhou, who teased the phone on Weibo.

Black Shark 3s Gaming Phone Could Launch Soon

In Weibo, he posted  “Lately, I feel like something big is about to happen.” The official has posted this message using the “Tencent Black Shark 3S” phone. While the launch date or specifications of the Black Shark 3S hasn’t been revealed in the post, his post indeed confirms the launch of the new Black Shark phone very soon.

The hardware details of the upcoming gaming phone from Black Shark are scarce at the moment, but it is tipped to pack the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ under the hood. We can now expect the leaks of the Black Shark 3S to drop soon as we get closer to the official launch.

Black Shark 3 Specifications

To recall, Black Shark 3 launched earlier this year with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. The display has 1080 x 2400 pixels screen resolution, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a pixel density of 394ppi, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 270Hz touch sampling rate. The display covers 105 percent of DCI-P3 color gamut and a peak brightness of 500 nits. 

Powered by the 2.84GHz octa-core Snapdragon 865 processor, the handset is coupled with Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB LPDDR4x dual channel/12GB LPDDR5 dual-channel RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It runs on Android 10-based JOYUI out of the box. 

The camera department is maintained by a triple-rear camera setup that comprises a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 13-megapixel sensor secondary sensor with an f/2.25 aperture. There is also a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2. On the front, you get a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The device supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax ), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset also sports an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Ticking all these is a 4,720mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. However, the 8GB + 128GB model of the phone comes with a 30W charger. There is also a magnetic charging connector on the back that is capable of 18W charging. It is 168.72×77.33×10.42mm in size and weighs 222 grams. With this new gaming phone, consumers are now able to smoothly play games such postmodernmystery.
