The change in the smartphone designs has seen throughout the years and its now near time that we will witness the revolutionary and futuristic change in the design in the form of foldable smartphones. The experimental prototypes by many brands are being rendered for years eventually a brand named Royale has already unveiled the world’s first foldable smartphone. We’ve been hearing rumors, announcements, leaks about the Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi and LG’s foldable phones.
Now, according to the new rumors, the Motorola will launch a foldable smartphone. As per the latest report, Motorola is reportedly planning to bring back the Moto RAZR flip phone from yesteryear as a foldable phone. To confirm this rumor, patent documents containing the images of the alleged Motorola RAZR 2019 were spotted last week. The images had revealed the front and rear design of the Motorola’s foldable phone. Yanko Design has shared concept renders of the RAZR 2019 foldable phone. The design of the phone has been created from the Motorola patent filing revealed last year.
The 3D visualizations of the Motorola RAZR 2019 show that the foldable phone will like a squarish device when folded. Opening the device exposes a longer display that is expected to be 19:8 aspect ratio. This RAZR 2019 also expected to feature a notch as RAZR series of flip-phones featured the notch.
The upper half on the rear side has a small display and a single-lens camera with an LED flash. When the device is closed, the small screen will allow users to see notifications. The fingerprint scanner is visible on the lower half of the device. The volume buttons and power key are not shown on the 3D renders of the phone because they were not present on the patent images. We can expect them in the Motorola’s final product.
Of course, these are just a rumor and there is no confirmation from Motorola’s parent company Lenovo on the foldable phone. According to a Wall Street Journal’s last month report, the RAZR 2019 will be arriving the U.S. markets with a price tag of nearly $1,500.
