Dell launches its first Inspiron-branded consumer Chromebook much cheaper than Google Pixelbook

Dell, an American technology company further moving into education market has launched its first Inspiron Chromebook at the IFA 2018 — called the Chromebook 14 2-in-1. The launch demonstrates that Chromebooks have a shot at taking a larger slice of the consumer laptop market than they have in the past.

The Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1 will be available on October 23 starting at $599 (approximately Rs 42,300). The 2-in-1 convertible offers a 14-inch FHD IPS display and an aluminium body. It is powered by 8th-Gen Intel Core i3 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
It has a claimed battery life of 15 hours and features a backlit keyboard.

“We’ve invested in redesigning our portfolio of mainstream laptops and two-in-ones with beautiful designs, premium materials and thoughtful features, illustrating our ongoing dedication to deliver quality devices,” Ray Wah, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer and Small Business at Dell, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the company also launched 2-in-1 Inspiron 7000 series laptops comes in 3 variants the one that comes in 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch models. That would be going on sale starts from October 2. In the Inspiron 7000 series, the 13-inch base model will begin from Rs.62,000 and a UHD screen variant is priced at Rs 88,000. The 15-inch variant starts at approx. Rs 60,000 with full HD screen resolution and $1,249.99 for the UHD model. And the premium laptop Dell Inspiron 17 7000 will begin from approx. There is a cheaper version laptop launched by Dell, the XPS 13 which runs on the Core i3 processor. The XPS 13 9370 features a dual-core 8th-gen Core i3-8130U, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 128GB SATA SSD, and 1080p panel for Rs 63,400.

At the same Dell had unveiled the newest member of its Ultrathin family, the Dell 27 USB-C Ultrathin (S2719DC). This is the world’s brightest 27-inch USB-C monitor offering up to 600 nits peak brightness and Quad HD resolution (2560×1440). It is VESA-certified DisplayHDR 600 and integrated with Corning Iris Glass light-guide plate (LGP) technology.
