Google is well-known for timely Android update if you’re using a Nexus or Pixel phones sold by Google. Google devices are always first to receive updates to new versions of Android. According to a new report, Google Pixel 2 may be the first smartphone to be upgraded to the Android Q OS. Yes. You heard it right! This information has emerged out of the Geekbench site where the OS can be seen as Android Q. This is really surprising because the Android Q is yet to be announced by Google.
The Google Pixel 2 variant running on the upcoming Android Q OS happens to be the .4GB RAM variant. Going by the benchmark scores, the Android Q build for the Pixel 2 seems average. The 1,856 single-core scores and 6307 multi-core score are both on par with the average scores achieved by Google Pixel 2 running on Android Pie. Other than that, however, the Geekbench listing doesn’t give us any clue with regards to the actual release timeframe.
Recently, Android Q early build on a Google’ recently launched flagship Pixel 3 XL has appeared in a new video and the video revealed how the OS looks in the smartphone.
The Android Q update will bring new features such as system-wide dark mode, overhauled permissions system, improved facial recognition, screen recording support, and a desktop mode, minor changes to UI elements, changes in Settings, more options in Developers Mode, option to turn off all sensors and more.

To recall, last year on March 7 the Pixel 2 smartphone received first Android P developer preview for Pixel smartphones. The Android Q Beta Program is likely to be announced in Google I/O 2019, which is scheduled from May 7 to 9 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View.
