Google took the veil off its latest Pixel 5 smartphone alongside the Pixel 4a 5G. Let’s take a look at the pricing, specifications and features of the new Google smartphones.
Google Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G pricing, availability
As for the pricing and availability, Google Pixel 5 price starts at $699 (approx. Rs. 51,400), while the price of the Google Pixel 4a 5G starts at 499 (approx. Rs. 37,000). However, both the new Google phones will be limited to 5G markets – Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan, the UK, and the US.
The Pixel 4a 5G will launch first in Japan on October 15, and it will be launched in other countries from November, while the Pixel 5 will be available across all 9 countries from October 15. It will go on sale in two colours: Just Black and Sorta Sage.

The OLED screen is 6-inches and has an full HD+ (1,080 x 2,340) resolution. The display offers 432ppi pixel density, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The Google Pixel 5 has a octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC processor and it is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of storage. There is no MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage.
The phone has a 8MP (f/2.0) camera on the front while the rear has a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12.2-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens and a 16-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens. Both the rear and front cameras support up to 4K video recording support at up to 60fps.
The phone runs Android 11 OS out of the box. There s a 4,080mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The phone also has 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It measures 144.7×70.4×8.0mm and weighs 151 grams.

The Google Pixel 4a 5G features a 6.2-inch OLED display with 413ppi pixel density. The display comes with an FHD+ resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels and is covered with a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3.
For photography, the Pixel 4A 5G packs a dual camera setup comprising a 12.2-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens and a 16-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens. At the front, the phone packs a 8-megapixel (f/2.0) selfie camera is inside a punch hole. The device supports video recording of up to 4K resolution at up to 60fps.
The phone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. The processor is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM while there 128GB of storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It ships with Android 11 operating system. Under the hood, there is a 3,885mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The phone measures 153.9×74.0x8.2mm and weighs 168 grams.
