A new series of 5G smartphones from Honor has been launched in China. The Honor 50 line-up includes the Honor 50 SE, the Honor 50, and the Honor 50 Pro. All these three phones run on Google’s Mobile Services. Here are details about the Honor 50 series, including specifications and features.

Honor 50 series price, availability

Honor 50 SE costs 2399 Yuan (approximately 27,490 rupees) for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version and 2699 Yuan (approximately 30,930 rupees) for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version.

For the base variant of the Honor 50 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, it costs 2699 yuan (approx. Rs 302,900). A model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage costs 2999 yuan (roughly Rs 34,600) and the top-end model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 3399 yuan (roughly Rs 38,845).

The Honor 50 Pro costs 3699 yuan (roughly Rs 42,400) for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 3999 yuan (roughly Rs 45,830).

Honor 50 SE Specifications 

Honor 50 SE is equipped with a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz  refresh rate. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. This phone runs on a newly-launched MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor.

In terms of cameras, there is a 16MP sensor on the front. The SE version offers a triple-camera setup consisting of a 108MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and an 8MP ultrawide sensor with  f/2.4 aperture. The camera setup also has a 2MP macro sensor with an aperture of f/2.4.

There is a 4000mAh battery in the Honor 50 SE, which supports 66W fast charging. The device runs  Android 11 with Magic UI 4.2. In terms of dimensions, the device is 164.73 x 75.63 x 8mm and the weight is  191 grams.

Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro are powered by a Snapdragon 778G processor coupled with Adreno 642L GPU. A 6.57-inch OLED display is available on the vanilla model along with a Full HD+ resolution, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 120Hz screen refresh rate, while a 6.72-inch OLED display with a 120Hz curved screen supports a 300Hz touch sampling rate found on the Pro model.

In terms of optics, the vanilla model sports a quad-camera setup with a 108MP primary camera (f/1.9), an 8MP f/2.4 ultrawide camera, and pair of 2MP depth and macro sensors with f/2.4 aperture. A 32MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture is available on the phone.

With the Pro model, you get the same quad-camera setup that the vanilla model offers. On the front, its 32MP front camera has an aperture of f/2.2 and is accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an aperture of f/2.4.

Both models run on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 OS. A 4,300mAh battery powers the Honor 50. It supports fast charging at 66W. The handset measures 159.96mm × 73.76mm × 7.78mm and weighs 175 grams.

The Honor 50 Pro comes with a 4000 mAh battery with 100W SuperCharge fast charging. The device measures 163.46mm × 74.66mm × 8.05mm and weighs 187 grams.

In terms of connectivity, both phones support 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C. Both of them have in-display fingerprint sensors.
