HTC To Make A Comeback With New Smartphone In India, Likely to Launch Desire 19+

After nearly a year break, Taiwan-based smartphone manufacturer HTC is set to make a comeback with a new smartphone for the Indian market. The company has teased a new smartphone launch in India in its social media accounts, and the comeback teaser is also live on e-commerce site Flipkart.

Htc Teases New Phone Ahead Of Return To Indian Market

Unfortunately, the teaser does not reveal the official launch date for the phone, but it highlights a few key features of the phone that includes waterdrop notch. Looking at the waterdrop notch on the teaser, we can expect the brand to launch recently launched HTC Desire 19+ in India.

In a short video teaser, HTC has highlighted some of its achievements of the company over the past decade. In 2007, HTC introduced the world’s first touch-centric phone. In 2008, the T-Mobile G1 was the first Android phone, made by HTC. The One M8 in 2013 was the first smartphone with a unibody metal design and dual rear cameras. In 2016, HTC launched its first smartphone with front and back OIS cameras.

At the end of the video teaser, we can see a phone with a waterdrop notch. The company recently launched the HTC Desire 19+ smartphone in Taiwan. So, it might be the same smartphone that is going to enter the Indian market in the coming days.

HTC Desire 19+ Specifications

HTC Desire 19+ sports a 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, the handset is fuelled by the octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card. On the software front, it runs Android 9 Pie and ticking all these is a 3,850mAh battery.

For photography, the HTC Desire 19+ packs triple rear cameras that include 13-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.85 aperture, a second 8-megapixel camera, and a third 5-megapixel camera. The rear camera setup has autofocus. For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel camera on the front.

HTC Desire 19+ Pricing

The HTC Desire 19+ comes with a price tag of TWD 9,990 (approx. Rs 22,100). It is for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs TWD 10,990 (approx. Rs 24,300). The HTC Desire 19+ price in India is expected to be similar to its Taiwanese pricing.
