Huawei has now unveiled the all-new Huawei Maimang 8 smartphone in its homeland China. Main highlights of the Huawei Maimang 8 include an dewdrop display, triple lens rear camera setup, and a Kirin 710 SoC.

Starting with the design, the new Huawei Maimang 8 is almost identical to the Huawei P Smart+ (2019) launched recently.  It comes with two colour options – Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue. There’s also a fingerprint scanner which sits right next to the camera setup. Furthermore, the volume rocker keys and power keys are located on the right edge.

In terms of specifications, the Huawei Maimang 8 sports a 6.21-inch full HD+ display having an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. Under the hood, the handset gets powered by Kirin 710 octa-core SoC bundled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. The handset’s storage is further expandable upto 512GB via microSD card.

As for cameras, the Huawei Maimang 8 features a triple rear camera setup. The main camera is a 24-megapixel, whereas the second lens is a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is also a 16-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide angle lens. Up front, the device is equipped with 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

In terms of OS, the device runs Android 9 Pie with the company’s custom MUI 9.0 skin on top. The phone measures 155.2×73.4×7.95mm, and weighs about 160 grams. Connectivity options include a Micro USB port, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and more.

As far as pricing and availability goes, Huawei Maimang 8 gets a starting price tag of CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs. 19,000) for the lone 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option in China. The smartphone will be offered in Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue colour options. It will go on sale in the China starting June 12. Moreover, the smartphone is already up for pre-order already on Huawei Mall, and other major e-commerce platforms.
