Huawei Nova 5i Stops at Geekbench, Key Specs Revealed

Popular Chinese smartphone brand Huawei recently launched the Nova 4e smartphone in home-country China and now the company is all set to unveil yet another phone from the Nova series called Huawei Nova 5i. The upcoming Huawei Nova 5i now quietly paid a visit at Geekbench and confirmed a few details about the chipsets and other key specifications. Huawei is yet to confirm the launch date of the Huawei Nova 5i. But, with the smartphone making it to Geekbench, it clearly indicates that Huawei Nova 5i launch is nearing.

The Geekbench listing has revealed that the Huawei Nova 5i bearing model number GLK-LX3 will be powered by octa-core Kirin 710 SoC clocked at 1.71GHz processor coupled with at least 4GB RAM and the listing has also confirmed that the phone will run on custom EMUI which is based on Android 9 Pie operating system.  According to the Geekbench, the Huawei Nova 5i scored 1538 points in a single-core test. The smartphone recorded 5388 points in the multi-core test.

Furthermore, the Huawei Nova 5i is rumored to launch as the Huawei P20 lite (2019) in some regions. The device has already received the NCC certificate from Taiwan authority and the NCC document has revealed the handset will indeed come with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. There will be a microSD card slot for the further expansion of storage up to 512GB.

As far as the other specs are concerned, the FCC documents have revealed that the Nova 5i is expected to be backed by a 3,900mAh battery, whereas NCC information reveals 10W charging support (courtesy GSMArena). Earlier leaks suggested that the handset will come equipped with a 5.84-inch LCD display along with a punch hole front camera. The device is likely to feature a triple rear camera setup that comprises of a primary 24-megapixel sensor, paired with a 16-megapixel secondary sensor and a dedicated 2-megapixel depth sensor. Some rumors also hint that the third sensor could actually be a ToF sensor.

Connectivity options on the Huawei Nova 5i are expected to include dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. There is no information available on the pricing and availability of the smartphone. Moreover, the smartphone was spotted running on Android 9 Pie, it remains to be seen if the company launches it with Android, or go for its own rumored Arc OS.
