Hyundai halted Santro bookings temporarily

The newest car in the market from Hyundai, the all-new Santro 2018 has been the most popular affordable hatchback car starting Rs.3.9 Lakhs. The new Santro was unveiled by the company on 23rd October this year. The bookings for this budget champion were opened on the day of the press launch event which was on October 10th. The pre-bookings for the Santro crossed the limit of production capacity, as a result, Hyundai decided not to take any more new bookings temporarily.

Hyundai received huge bookings of over 32,000 in a very short time. The current waiting period for the car is above 3 months, That’s the reason Hyundai decided to halt the new bookings for Santro 2018. This budget killer is re-launched in the Indian market after 6 long years and it received almost 15000 bookings before the official launch.

The strong, strongest USP for the Santro is the affordable price range and no compromise in the quality of both interiors and exteriors. In the Hyundai’s Indian lineup, Santro replaces the Hyundai Eon, but to be frank, Santro is positioned above it.

To talk about the statistics shared by Hyundai, one unit in every three units sold is an automatic variant. In the overall prebookings, 21% are for CNG variants. According to the most recent update, 8000 and above Santro’s has hit the roads, The Hyundai’s Chennai plant is unable to serve this huge surge.

Direct competitors of Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Tata Tiago are observing a decline in the sales graph. The affordable segment is the most competitive and popular market pie in the Indian Automobile industry and  Auto brands should be very clever to stay in this brand war.

Coming to the specifications, Santro is powered with a 1.1-liter petrol engine which produces 68 Bhp of power and 99 Nm of torque and the mileage? it’s  20.3 km/l. The CNG variant of Santro is low powered comparing to the petrol variants but it is offering a fuel economy of 30.48 km/kg which is a great return.
