Vivo’s spin-off brand iQOO has unveiled a new budget 5G smartphone in its home country China. Dubbed as iQOO U3, the phone comes with key features such as a 90Hz refresh rate display, a big battery, and a 48-megapixel dual rear camera setup.Iqoo U3

The iQOO U3 is available for grabs in China with a 50 Yuan discount and retails at 1,498 Yuan (approx. Rs 16,834) for the base 6GB/128GB variant while the 8GB/128GB variant costs 1,698 Yuan (approx. Rs 19,082). The phone comes in two distinct colorways – Black and Glow Blue. The phone is expected to hit the Chinese markets by December 17.

Under the hood, we have the Dimensity 800U chipset. The processing power is paired with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It lacks microSD card support.

The phone flaunts a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels, It has a waterdrop notch. Also, the display offers a 20.07:9 aspect ratio, a 401ppi pixel density, HDR10, and a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Moving around to the back, we have a  uniquely designed dual camera setup housed inside a rectangle camera module comprising a 48-megapixel main shooter with an f/1.79 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It offers features like night scene mode, panorama, time-lapse photography, EIS, and 4K video recording.

We get a 5000mAh battery with 18W dual-engine fast charging technology. The phone comes with Android 10 straight out of the box with iQOO UI 1.5 skin. Other features include liquid cooling technology, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C, face unlock, a side-facing fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
