In the last two years, the Indian telecom industry has seen the biggest turnaround of all time. Jio’s arrival entirely changed the way Indians use mobile internet. The record-breaking telecom company already has more than 250 million customers, because of its free unlimited services.
The company has already launched JioPhone in 2017 and JioPhone 2 last year. Now, a new report hinting at the arrival of JioPhone 3 that is supposed to hit the market soon. According to the report, the JioPhone 3 will be the company’s first touchscreen phone with a comparatively bigger display than the JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
Jio Phone 3 Alleged Specifications
An anonymous Jio executive has shared a few key information on the JioPhone 3. According to him, JioPhone 3 will sport a 5-inch touchscreen display. This phone will have 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Coming to the cameras, the JioPhone 3 will be featuring a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP camera on the phone. However, there is no information on the software on the JioPhone 3. Considering the 2 GB of RAM, we can expect it to either run KaiOS like previous JioPhone models or go for Google’s Android Go OS.
By looking at the specifications, we can say that the JioPhone 3 could be an entry-level phone.
Jio Phone 3 Expected Price in India and Availability
As far as the price of the JioPhone 3 is concerned, the phone is likely to be priced around Rs. 4500. To recall, the JioPhone debuted the market with a price tag of just Rs. 1,500 whereas the JioPhone 2 was entered the market with a price tag of Rs. 2,999. Further, we can expect the telcom to launch the phone with exchange offers for the existing JioPhone and JioPhone 2 users. The Jio could also bundle cashback offers for the JioPhone 3 buyers.
Talking about the availability of JioPhone 3, the phone will be entering the market around June 2019. Thus, we can expect it to go on sale by August 2019. The JioPhone will be available for buyers at Jio’s official website, Jio stores, and Reliance Digital stores.
