The exact launch date of the LG G8 ThinQ is yet to be revealed. In fact, LG is yet to reveal official details about the G7 ThinQ successor. Sources close to The Android Soul have confirmed this bit of information about the G7 ThinQ successor (believed to be the G8 ThinQ). Interestingly, the unpacked event is on February 24, a day before MWC kicks off. Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry, incorporating a thought-leadership conference that features prominent executives representing mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world. It is expected that the company could showcase the smartphone to attendees/media at MWC 2019 after the official launch. A few days back, Samsung has announced an Unpacked event for 20 February, where it’s expected to showcase the S10 series phones, Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10 Lite.

Last week, LG G8 ThinQ image renders, a 360-degree video surfaced online which is based on the past design, rumors, and speculations. In the rendered images of the LG, G8 ThinQ shows the design of the phone which is almost similar to the G7+ ThinQ and there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which could mean an on-screen fingerprint display won’t be implemented.

The leak even disclosed the horizontal dual rear camera setup with no Laser Autofocus. The device is expected to include a large 6.1-inch screen, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 152 x 72 x 8.4mm dimension, USB Type-C port, loudspeaker grille, power button and SIM tray on the right, 3.5mm audio socket at the bottom, volume buttons on the left, and a Google Assistant button.
