A few years ago, Micromax was the best player in the Indian smartphone market. But popular Chinese players such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo have removed it from the Indian smartphone market. Recently, company had launched a budget phone YU Ace for the price of Rs. 5,999. After launching YU Ace in August, Micromax is set to launch another smartphone.
The company has started sending media invites for an event scheduled for December 18 and the company even teased the notched display smartphone through its social media handles.
Following the official media invite, Micromax’s upcoming smartphones is said to sport a notch. This notch highlighted in the invitation looks like a traditional notch that first appeared on the iPhone X.
In addition to the media invitation from the company, twitter handle of the Micromax had teased the smartphone on Wednesday. The tweet includes #AboveTheRest hashtag to suggest that the new smartphone could deliver competitive performance. Moreover, the image shows a glimpse of the notched display and carries a tagline that reads, “Does the powerful excite you?”

To recall, the YU Ace comes with a 5.45-inch screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and 720 x 1,440px resolution. The device is covered with 2.5D glass. Coming to the chipset, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC coupled with 2GB/3 GB of RAM and 16 GB/32 GB Storage. The inbuilt storage can be expanded via MicroSD card up to 128 GB.
On the camera department, the device acquires a rear camera of a 13MP/1080p shooter and a 5MP selfie camera with LED flash. The YU Ace features a fingerprint scanner on the back. The phone also equipped with Face Unlock feature.
