Moto G42 released: Snapdragon 680 SoC, 50MP triple rear-camera & more

Motorola has released a new smartphone in Brazil, the Moto G42. The new phone from Motorola packs a Snapdragon 680 SoC, 50MP triple rear cameras, g-OLED display, and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

The company has not yet announced the price of the Moto G42. Color options include blue and rose. It is expected that the Moto G42 will soon be released in other markets soon.

Moto G42 boasts a 6.4-inch g-OLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Moto G42 is powered by the Snapdragon 680 SoC and comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Furthermore, the storage can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.

It features a triple camera setup at the back. There is a 50-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The phone has a 16-megapixel front camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

Software-wise, the handset runs Android 12 OS. In addition, the phone features a 5,000mAh battery and 20W TurboCharge technology. A fingerprint sensor is located on the side. Face recognition is also available.

The phone comes with Dolby Atmos-powered dual stereo speakers. Connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. It measures 160.4 x 73.5 x 7.99mm and weighs around 174.5 grams.
