The Nokia has formally launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus Android One smartphones in India at an event held last month. However, the company delayed revealing the price and availability of Nokia 5.1 plus until recently.T he handset is priced at Rs 10,999.

The key high lights of the handset include front and back glass design, AI enabled dual rear cameras and a full-screen display with a notch at the top. The notch is pretty wide, like the one on the iPhone, and it houses the front camera, earpiece and sensors. It is part of the Android One programme, meaning it will get quick software updates and will receive the Android Pie update. The Nokia 5.1 Plus competes against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Redmi Y2, Moto G6, and Honor 9N, among others.

The handset comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone will be available in Gloss Black and Gloss Midnight Blue colours. It will be available to purchase via Flipkart and Nokia online store starting at 12 pm today. Talking about specifications, The handset sports a 5.8-inch display with an HD+ (1520×720 pixels) resolution, and tall aspect ratio of 19:9. It is armed with a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core chipset coupled with Mali-G72 GPU and coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, a microSD card slot (hybrid) is also present for further expansion.

On Imaging duties, the smartphone comes with AI enabled dual rear cameras – a combination of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, you get an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.

Being an Android one smartphone programme, the smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The company has also confirmed that it will be updated to Android 9 Pie later this year.
