Good news for Nokia fans. Company HMD Global has launched the new Nokia 6.1 Plus with a notch display in India. The same smartphone was first launched in China as Nokia X6, and it has been renamed to Nokia 6.1 Plus for the global launch. Along with the Nokia 6.1 Plus the company also launched another phone with notch named Nokia 5.1 Plus. Surprising thing is that the price of both smartphones is not too high. Both the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus are affordable and the specifications are also impressive for the price.

Nokia 6.1 Plus Specifications

Talking about the specifications of the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the device has a 5.8-inch full-HD+ display of 2280×1080 pixels resolutions with 19:9 aspect ratio and 96 percent color gamut. The Nokia 6.1 Plus will be powered by Snapdragon 636 with Adreno 509 GPU. The phone has a dual camera setup on the rear with 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel cameras while the 5-megapixel is a depth sensor. Up front, the device boasts 16-megapixel front camera. The front camera has 1-micron pixel size and f/2.0 aperture and features include AI-assisted portrait lighting. The Nokia 6.1 plus is backed by a 3,060mAh battery and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Still, there is an absence of face unlock mechanism. The Nokia 6.1 Plus and will be available in gloss midnight blue, gloss black and gloss white color options.

The device will be a part of Google’s Android One programme the device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and will be updated to Android 9 Pie later this year. Connectivity options of the Nokia 6.1 Plus include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board the Nokia 6.1 Plus are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 147.2×70.98×7.99mm (excluding the lens), going up to 8.59mm with the lens and weighs 151 grams.

The new Nokia 5.1 Plus features a 5.8-inch 19:9 aspect ratio display with an HD+ resolution of 1520×720 pixel. While the device is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 chipset coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 for graphics performance. Talking about the variants, the Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available in two storage variants one with 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and another one with 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The Nokia 5.1 Plus also has dual camera setup on the back featuring 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture. The Nokia 6.1 plus is backed by a 3,060mAh battery and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. As a part of Google’s Android One programme, the Nokia 5.1 Plus also runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, and will be updated to Android 9 Pie later this year. The Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available in blue, black and white colors

Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus Price in India

The Nokia 6.1 Plus will cost Rs 15,999 in India, while the Nokia 5.1 Plus price will only be revealed in September when it goes on sale. But Nokia 5.1 Plus retails for €199 (approximately Rs. 15,800), so it should be priced under Rs 15,000 in India. Both the smartphones will be available only via Flipkart and Nokia.com. The Nokia 6.1 Plus will go on sale from August 30 in India.
