OnePlus 6T Ad Misleads Viewers Showing Device with No Bottom Bezels

Smartphone makers are misleading customers by inappropriate or inaccurate advertising. Recently, Samsung caught faking Galaxy A8 Star pictures with a DSLR. The the latest company on this list is OnePlus, a company with the ‘Never Settle’ slogan in the world of smartphones. Popular Chinese smartphone maker, OnePlus used inaccurate methods in advertising OnePlus 6T by cutting bezels of their latest OnePlus 6T.

An OnePlus follower spotted an ad run by Instagram app in OnePlus’ official Instagram handle. This is the most obvious way to misunderstand as the ad showing OnePlus 6T having minimal bezels but the actual device does not have that much thinner bezels.

Earlier, the tech giant Google was also caught cropping the bezels of Pixel 3XL in one of its Home advertisements. But, later the Google corrected that advertisement.

Using the wrong method of advertisement has a negative effect on the company and it should be discontinued. This applies not only to the presentation of unrealistic products, but also to the promotion of goods with false information. It will be interesting to see how OnePlus responds to this.

OnePlus should try better to avoid such false advertising allegations, as it takes away from the company’s accomplishments, which includes the OnePlus 6T being one of the best affordable flagship smartphone of 2018.
