Oneplus to integrate with Google Duo for native video calling for its devices

It seems like your Oneplus device will soon get a native video calling app that is Google Duo. Oneplus is in plans to integrate with Google duo as a native video calling app on its devices. AS Oneplus will soon rollout the stable OxygenOS software update to Oneplus 6T,6,5,5T and eventually on the OnePlus 3, 3T with Android Pie update.

With this update will allow Users to make video calls without opening Google Duo app as it is integrating across multiple native functions on your OnePlus smartphone such as call logs, contacts, dial pad, and messaging. Which means if you need to make a video call to one of your contacts using Duo, you don’t need to open the Google Duo app. Simply use the native integration. This will make making a video call as seamless as making a normal call through things like call logs, messaging and more.

As of now, the firm didn’t declare the exact timeline but hopefully, it will roll out by coming week. If you want to give a try then you can get this in open beta builds of OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T devices. Even after the update, users will continue to have access to the traditional carrier video call option. Oneplus says that the incorporation of the new feature will enhance video calling utility for its users has providing OnePlus’ promise of refined, fast and smooth Android experience.

The integration of Google Duo looks like Oneplus indeed want to bring more Google services to OxygenOS. Before this, The firm also added Google lens to its camera. Where the lens allows users to use the phone’s camera to surface information about the objects through machine learning to provide more details and provide relevant search tags. This can also be used as a QR code scanner and also use the image recognition tool to get more information about things like books, buildings, and works of art, by simply tapping on it.
