The Mobile World Congress is described as the largest mobile industry event and the event is scheduled to start from 25th February in Barcelona, Spain. Many tech companies will showcase their products to visitors from over 200 countries. The event getting nearer, many brands began to send out invitations to events.

Many smartphone companies are in a race to build the first folding smartphone and Oppo obviously does not want to stay behind. Even the company confirmed to announce a foldable phone last year. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has sent out media invites for its ‘Get Closer’ launch event at MWC 2019 which is scheduled on 23rd February at 21:00 Beijing time. Oppo will be exploring the theme of Connectivity, AI, Industry 4.0, Immersive Content, Disruptive Innovation, Digital Wellness, Digital Trust, and The Future at the Mobile World Congress event.

The press invite sent by Oppo is uniquely designed and folded, which might be a hint by the company that it could launch its foldable smartphone at MWC. Besides this, the ‘Get Closer’ event name also suggests that the company could unveil a new product with 10x optical zoom technology. Recently, a leak revealed Oppo F19 Pro with 10X lossless zoom camera.

A few months ago, Oppo’s product manager Chuck Wang had revealed that Oppo would announce its first foldable smartphone at the MWC 2019.

Previous reports were confirmed that the company has already patented designs for its foldable phone with one featuring three displays. As per the earlier reports, OPPO’s foldable phone takes the shape of a tablet when unfurled. Oppo also patented a somewhat radical design which has three screens. This patent shows a foldable phone which unfolds to show two more displays.
