Patent Images for Asus smartphone Show Pop-up Camera and hole-in-display Design

Samsung is rumored to unveil the Galaxy S10 ‘hole-in-display’ design. Now, according to a new report, Asus wants to launch a similar smartphone concept behind the scenes. To give users more screen space, Asus has released ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z with a notched display.

Currently, Asus has patented a new designs with European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIP) to provide users with a full-faced screen, LetsGoDigital reported. The company filed two patents. The patent allows you to view the Asus phone in full screen design and a pop-up selfie snapper, similar to the Vivo NEX.

As you can see, there are three different formats for one design. The first one shows a thin module for the front snapper, the second one is likely to be a bit wide, and the third one with a wide module might include a multiple and advanced sensors for 3D face detection, including the front camera.

As for the second patent, the image above shows nearly bezel-less design with a tiny in-screen camera hole at the top left side of the device to take selfies. This is the same design that we saw on the Huawei Nova 4 and Samsung Galaxy A8.

In addition, the company also plans to unveil the next ZenFone 6 smartphone in MWC February 2019.
