The Chinese smartphone maker Oppo’s spin-off Realme has further expanded its portfolio by launching of the two new smartphones Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro in India.

Realme 5 5 Pro Launched

As the name suggests, the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro is a great upgrade to its predecessors concerning hardware and camera. The Realme 5 replaces the MediaTek Helio P70 present on Realme 3 with the Snapdragon 665 while another phone Realme 5 Pro replaces the Snapdragon 710 present on Realme 3 Pro with the latest Snapdragon 712 SoC.

Realme 5 Specifications

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Realme 5 comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen having a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The phone further flaunts a dewdrop-notch and has 89 per cent screen to body ratio.

Powering the Realme 5 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. The handset further packs up to 4GB of RAM alongside up to 128GB of onboard storage. Moreover, the given MicroSD card slot allows for storage expansion up to 256GB.

For photography, the phone gets a quad-camera setup at the back. The configuration comprises a 12MP primary sensor with PDAF, f/1.8 aperture, a 119-degree 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. There’s a 13-megapixel shooter at the front for selfies.

A massive 5,000 mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 flash charge support backs all of this. On the software terms, the Realme 5 runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6 layered on top.

Realme 5 Price in India and colour Options

The Realme 5 comes in three variants in India including 3GB RAM/32GB storage for Rs 9,999, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for Rs 10,999. Lastly, a 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 11,999. The Realme 5 comes with new nano holographic colour in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple colour options.

Realme 5 Pro Specifications

As for the specs, the Realme 5 Pro sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with 90.8 per cent screen ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection. Under the hood, there is an octa-core latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to whopping 128GB of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot allows for further storage expansion up to 256GB.

In the optics department, the Realme 5 Pro gets a quad-camera setup at the rear. The configuration comprises a 48-megapixel primary SONY IMX 586 lens with PDAF, f/1.8 aperture, a 119-degree 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, all of which is enabled with EIS Image Stabilisation and Quad Bayer pixel four-in-one technology. On the front, the handset gets a single 16MP selfie camera.

Realme 5 Pro has a 4035 mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge technology. It runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6 skin.

Realme 5 Pro Price in India and Color Options

The Realme 5 Pro also comes in three variants including 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for Rs 13,999, and 6GB RAM and 64GB storage for Rs 14,999. The top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 128Gb storage comes with a price tag of Rs. 16,999. It is also available in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple colour options.

Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro Availability, First Sale

The Realme 5 will be available in India starting August 27 while the Realme 5 Pro will go on sale in India for the first time on September 4. Both the phones will be exclusively available on Flipkart, Realme.com and soon it will be available in offline stores as well.
