Realme is rumoured to be working on a new variant of the Realme 5 called Realme 5i. The smartphone has just bagged the BIS and Wi-Fi certifications needed to launch. The certification indicating that the phone will be coming to India sometime soon.
The Wi-Fi alliance has certified the Realme 5i with the model number RMX2030. Furthermore, the Realme 5i has also been certified by Thailand’s NBTC and Indonesia’s TKDN, confirming the launch in other Asian countries.
According to the Wi-Fi Alliance certification, the Realme 5i will run Android Pie OS with the firmware version RMX2030EX_11_A.08_191130. It has been certified to support Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac standard and compatibility with the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
Yesterday, the company confirmed the launch of first truly wireless earbuds launch in India on December 17 along with Realme XT 730G. So, Oppo’s spin-off might launch the Realme 5i also on the same event.
Even though the specifications and other details of the Realme 5i are not known at this moment, the smartphone will succeed Realme 3i in India. To recall, the Realme 3i was launched with a 6.22-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The MediaTek Helio P60 processor powers the device and it is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. The storage is further expandable via a microSD card.
On the imaging front, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual camera setup on the rear consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, Chroma Boost, and Hybrid HDR and a 2-megapixel secondary lens on the rear. For selfies, it has a 13-megapixel sensor with AI Beautification, HDR, and AI Face unlock features. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and A-GPS. A 4,230mAh battery powers the phone.
Realme 3i price in India starts at Rs 7,999 and the upcoming Realme 5i is also expected to be priced under Rs 8,000 for the base variant.
