Realme is launching the Realme 8 5G and Realme 8 Pro 5G smartphones in India this month. The launch date hasn’t been announced by the company yet but a new report suggests that it could be on April 22.
Realme Central, citing their source, claims that Oppo’s sub-brand is gearing up to launch the Realme 8 series 5G smartphones in India on 22nd April. During the Realme 8 4G series launch event, Madhav Sheth (CEO of Realme India) did confirm that they are bringing the Realme 8 5G variant soon. Later, Realme’s support team confirmed that there is also a ‘Pro’ variant coming with the 5G support while replying to a user’s query.
Moreover, Realme 8 5G was certified by many certification sites such as BIS, NBTC, Peruvian MTC, and FCC. The BIS and NBTC listings hinted at the smartphone’s launch in India and Thailand respectively. The FCC listing also revealed few key specs of the phone.
Based on the FCC listing, the Realme 8 5G ships with Android 11 OS with the company’s own Realme UI 2.0 skin. It measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.5mm and weighs 185 grams. The phone will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery. Connectivity features will include Wi-fi 802.11ac, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC.

In terms of processor, it comes with a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset and offers up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The company has also added copper liquid cooling technology for controlling thermals. The phone also features an in-display fingerprint sensor.
It packs a triple camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultrawide with 119-degree FOV, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. On the front, you get a 16MP selfie camera. Backed by a 5000mAh battery, it supports 30W charging. It runs Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 OS and comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, Type-C port.

Realme 8 Pro comes equipped with a 6.4-inch sAMOLED Samsung screen, Realme 8 Pro display supports an FHD+ resolution, 180Hz touch sampling rate, sunlight mode up to 1000 nits brightness, DC light dimming, Eye protection. It sports an in-display fingerprint sensor. Powered by Snapdragon 720G 4G and offers up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
For the camera, the smartphone comes with a quad-camera setup that houses a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a pair of 2MP sensors. For selfies, it sports a 16MP punch-hole front camera.
