Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Friday announced that it will launch their first Android Go smartphone in India on March 19. The upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi which has been promoted through teaser on social media by CEO is scheduled to be unveiled on 12 PM in an event in New Delhi, India on March 19th.

Going by the Philippines price of Redmi Go, which starts at PHP 3,990, this could be the cheapest Xiaomi phone in India to launch with an expected price of Rs. 5,400.

Redmi Go Android Go Smartphone Specifications, Features

Apart from the latest Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition, the Redmi Go features a 5-inch HD display (1,280×720 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Under the hood, the Redmi Go is powered by a 1.4GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset paired with Adreno 308 GPU. The device is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, a hybrid slot for the second SIM which means that users can either choose to add the second nano-SIM or a microSD card slot for expansion of storage up to 128GB through a microSD card.

On the camera front, the Redmi Go features a single camera on the rear – an 8MP primary sensor along with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, HDR, burst mode, and more. The front of the device hosts a 5MP camera sensor as well. The Redmi Go is kept alive by a 3000mAh battery, and lastly, it features a fingerprint sensor on the rear for authentication.

Connectivity options on the Redmi Go include 4G VoLTE-enabled dual Nano-SIM slots, Bluetooth v4.1, FM radio, micro USB port, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Android Go loaded with several Go-optimized applications, including scaled-down versions of the Google app, Assistant, YouTube, Gboard, Chrome, Maps, Files, Gmail and Google Play.
