Samsung Galaxy A50 DxO MARK: Results reveal Galaxy A50 is in par with LG G7 ThinQ

DxO Mark, the popular camera testing company has finally revealed the scores of the Samsung Galaxy A50 camera. To recall, the Galaxy A50 was launched in India in January of this year and after waiting for a long time, the DxOMark score of the smartphone is here.

After weeks of testing, the Samsung Galaxy A50 scored overall 83 on DXO’s tests. Breaking down the scores further, Galaxy A50 got 85 scores in photos and 79 in the video. Even though the score is not good as the latest flagship devices, it is on par with some previous generation flagships, like the LG G7 ThinQ and is only trailing the Nokia 8 Sirocco and the Apple iPhone 7 by a point or two. However, the Galaxy A50’s overall score is just three points behind the Galaxy A9.

Samsung Galaxy A50 Price Cut

According to the DxO Mark report, Galaxy A50 performs well in high-contrast conditions by offering a wide dynamic range. Pictures that taken with HDR had a little chromatic noise, as well as ringing, and aliasing edge artifacts were visible on zooming in.

Samsung recently released June security update for the Galaxy A50 phone and it added new features like Slow-Mo video recording, Night mode and the ability to scan QR codes from the camera app without Bixby Vision.

The Samsung Galaxy A50 features a Super AMOLED Infinity-U FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and 91.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The Samsung Galaxy A50 runs the company’s custom skin OneUI based on Android 9 Pie. The smartphone is backed by a 4000mAh battery and it comes with a 15-watt fast-charging tech via USB Type-C port. The SoC is paired with the 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.

For optics, the Galaxy A50 equips triple rear cameras. The primary sensor comes with a 25MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture along with 5MP depth sensor, and an 8MP fixed-focus ultra-wide camera with f/2.4 aperture. For the front, there is a 25-megapixel front-facing camera.
