Samsung Galaxy S10 seems to ditch on Iris sensor for an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor

Its been a year to hear about the biggest technology thing from Samsung is its latest flagship Galaxy S10 line-up. Where we already know from the previous reports that company going to fill up the device with variety of features including in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, triple rear cameras and more, In the latest report, we hear that the company said to have cancelled the iris sensor as an ultrasonic fingerprint is enough to replace it.

As this information about removing the iris scanner arrived earlier this year, and now they look to have been confirmed by two independent sources. As per a report by ETNews coming out of South Korea, the primary biometric authentication technology in the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be fingerprint recognition. It says that the functionality of the fingerprint scanner will come with several upgrades over the ones present in previous models.

By ditching the scanner company will be able to make the top bezel thinner or make room for 3D Face-scanning technology, which seems to be the preferred choice among makers but lately.

Compared to the optical fingerprint sensors, the S10 ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is faster and has a larger recognition area, and 30% of the screens may be recognized. This accounts for something to stay excited about what’s coming from Samsung. Furthermore, 2019 is likely to see demand for S10’s ultrasound and new screen technology. This technology will remain Samsung’s exclusive.

As per the previous reports, The company has been working on three Galaxy S10 variants; 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch models with triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner. On the rear side, the lens will include the same 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens as the Galaxy S9+, plus an all-new 16-megapixel 120º ultra-wide-angle lens.

All these three models are likely to launch at the MWC 2019 event in February.  Reports also suggest that Galaxy S10 line-up will have a cheaper variant that will better compete with the rumoured 6.1-inch iPhone.
