Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra’s FCC listing confirms support for S-Pen

Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy S21 series smartphones at an online launch event on January 14. Now, ahead of the launch, the Galaxy S21 Ultra with model number SMG998B has been spotted on the US FCC website, which reveals some of the key specifications of the handset.

Galaxy S21 Ultra Appears In Fcc Listing

As per the listing, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will have support for S-Pen that will additionally come with Hover functionality too. The specifications of the Galaxy S21 Ultra are currently under the wraps. But, the FCC certification confirms a bunch of other features that the phone will support that includes NFC, Wireless charging, Wireless power sharing, Wifi 6E, and Ultra Wide-band functionality. Apart from all these, the certification or listing doesn’t reveal much about the upcoming smartphone. 

Android Authority report states that “The EUT [Equipment Under Test] can also be used with a stylus device (S-Pen). The EUT operates with the S-Pen in two different inductive coupling modes of S-Pen motion detection (Hover and Click) operating in the range of 0.53-0.6MHz,” S21 Ultra 3

Earlier reports already revealed that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will not be having a dedicated slot for storing the S Pen within the phone.

Considering previous rumors and leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will be equipped with a  6.8-inch adaptive 120Hz QHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 and 515 PPI. Under the hood, the device should run on Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 chipsets depending on the regions. It will be paired with 12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options.

In terms of optics, we’re looking at a quad-camera setup on the rear with a combination of a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP secondary sensor, and a pair of 10MP sensors. Powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, the device will support 45W fast charging, but only a 25W charger will be provided in the box.
