Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite leaked, to launch on May 21:Report

Samsung is reportedly prepare to launch “Galaxy S8 lite” which is also rumoured as Samsung S9 smartphone on China on May 21. With model number SM-G8750, there is currently no official name for this upcoming Samsung smartphone but quite a lot of details and specifications of the phone are leaked already.

A tipster who goes by the Twitter handle @MMDDJ, revealed that the so-called ‘Galaxy S8 Lite’ would be available in Black and Red colour variants. Reports also suggest that a smartphone called ‘Galaxy S8 Lite’ got revealed recently on certification website TENAA.

In a separate set of leaks, the tipster has also revealed several promotional images – sourced from Weibo – of the smartphone which he insists on calling the Galaxy S9 Lite. The photos show the back panel of the handset that has a single rear camera and a fingerprint sensor placed next to it.

Expected Specs

According to listings of TENNA, the ‘Galaxy S8 Lite’ mobile features a 5.8-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.The device is powered by an octa core (2.2 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 260 + 1.84 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 260) processor paired with 4 GB of RAM and Adreno 512 GPU. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. It comes with 64GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards.

It will support 4G LTE, Bluetooth among other regular connectivity features and will also sport a fingerprint scanner at the back along with iris scanner for added device security.The sensors include Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Compass and Gyroscope.

As for camera specifications, the Galaxy S8 Lite gets a single 16-megapixel rear sensor. On the front, it is expected to sport an 8-megapixel selfie sensor.
